Hello! Thanks for dropping by today. I'd like to tell you a little about myself so that you can get to know me a little better.
I look forward to having a chance to get to know you too.
I like to go by the name "Rod" and my email name is "rkeinc".
Let me tell you some personal details about me. My favorite things in life are my friends and family but my circle of friends extends into my interests and hobbies. I love computers which evolved into a very successful Computer Consulting Company. Also, as the Director of Religious Education at my parish I love teaching children to "...Love thy neighbor as thyself..." Many of them have grown up and I'm so proud of the morale and upstanding people they have become. I'm very proud to be associated in leadership roles with my College Alumni Association and work with some wonderful and outstanding leaders of our country. Finally, I always find time for
Swimming, Spinning (cycling), Running, Triathlon Training, Body Building and I
am a "pure" vegetarian (vegan). All this has helped me to stay healthy and been instrumental in my ability to run three sub 3-hour marathons (yes - the 26.2 mile types) as well as keep very active and have a passion for life!
There are a few things in this life that we can truly be proud of, but I can think of
two things in particular I would like to share with you. First, like any proud Father, the proudest moment and greatest achievements in my life have been fathering 3 wonderful children who are now all successful adults. Of course, sharing their experiences with the greatest person in my life, my wife of 37 years, K.C., make it all worthwhile.
Second, my three grandchildren; first grandson, Gabriel Kevin Daignault;
first granddaughter, Abigail Faith Daignault; second granddaughter, Isbella
Simon Erb have made me the
proudest grandfather in the universe! You can understand more about me by reading my poem from my 25th
Wedding Anniversary at
http://www.rke-inc.com/25_years.htm.
The silliest or craziest thing that I've ever done? I've done some pretty wild things in my life - all of which I am proud of. From surviving four challenging years at West Point, becoming the Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Champion, to Swimming, Diving and Golfing on the
Intercollegiate Athletic teams - followed by being an Airborne, Jumpmaster and Ranger in the Army and surviving a tour in Vietnam with a Bronze Star - I'm a survivor and very grateful God has granted me each and everyday to continue to enjoy life! Remember, everyday is an adventure and we must learn to be grateful we have today to face it!
My Current Story as of June 23rd, 2009
I starting my own company, RKE Consulting, Inc. in 1993. Like any small
business it has had its ups and downs. 911 was devastating not only to me
but to all my employees. However, as long as we keep trying God will see to it we will succeed - His plan is that we all work together for a better, happier life! My life has taken some interesting twists and turns. It has been a lot of hard work but worth every minute and my success is with the friends and relationships I have established through the years. People will never remember you for your big house, fancy car or the size of your paycheck, but they will remember you if you made THEM feel good about THEMselves! Let me close by leaving you with my favorite quote from Eleanor Roosevelt that has always driven me to achieve my
goals - "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams..." Please, don't ever, EVER quit DREAMING!!!
